Delan Umanee - Managing DirectorDelan founded Care in Hand with wife and business partner, Sheena over seven years ago. Born in Epsom, he was raised in Pembrokeshire by parents, both qualified nurses, who moved to the area in 1986 to set up a specialist nursing home in the area. Having left the area to study towards a BA Honours in Business and Finance at Buckinghamshire University, Delan later moved back to the area in 2004 to establish Care in Hand. Today, Delan continues to have a hands-on role in the day to day management of the business. Delan lives with his wife and two young daughters in the nearby village of Narberth. |

Darren Umanee RMN, RGN - DirectorDarren, a trained and fully qualified nurse, was inspired to pursue a career in the sector after spending several years working for the family owned nursing home in Pembrokeshire. He gained a diploma in mental health nursing from Swansea University and has a diploma in general nursing from Cardiff University. Darren has around 20 years experience providing care to the elderly and has specialise knowledge in Alzheimer's and dementia. Darren has been involved in establishing Care in Hand and works as one of the Directors of the company. Darren still maintains responsibility for overseeing care provision for vulnerable adults. He lives in Saundersfoot with his wife and three children. |

Sheena Umanee - Quality Assurance DirectorSheena, who co-founded Care in Hand with her husband and business partner, Delan Umanee, is originally from Kilkenny, Ireland, but moved to live in Pembrokeshire in 2004 to help establish the business. With a BSc Honours degree in Psychology and an NVQ 4 in Health Care Management, Sheena has spent more than 11 years working as a qualified nurse and has specialised in intensive care training. Sheena is fully involved in the day to day running of the business and is entirely responsible for managing the quality assurance policies for staff, development and training and of the overall service. A mother of two, Sheena is passionate about caring for people and is committed to ensuring the best level of care is offered to all clients. |

Carol Pitchford – Tenby Care CoordinatorWith a professional background in sales and finance, Carol moved back home to Pembrokeshire in 2000, where she began her career in the care sector working for a local private nursing home. She had no previous experience, but soon realised it was the right career move for her and quickly progressed through the ranks to Senior Care Manager. Having gained various qualifications, including an NVQ level 4 in Health and Social Care, Carol decided to further her career and succeeded in securing a Care Coordinator role with Care in Hand in October 2009. Today, she works with 70 carers coordinating the service offered to clients within the Tenby area. Carol has recently completed a Modern Skills Diploma making her a member of the Chartered Managers Institute. |

Lisa Griffiths – Training ManagerLisa, who was born and bred in Pembrokeshire has more than 25 years experience working as a registered nurse within the health and social care sector. After qualifying as a nurse from Kingston upon Thames School of Nursing, she gained various nursing roles within hospitals, nursing care homes, local authority and within the community whilst studying towards her BSc in Care Science (Care of the Older Person.) Lisa returned to live in Pembrokeshire in 1996 with her husband and has two children. Lisa started her career at Care in Hand as a nurse trainer for manual handling and health and social care nursing, achieving her Professional Trainers and A1 Assessor’s Awards. Currently as Care in Hand’s Training Manager, Lisa is responsible for planning, developing and managing staff training and development and is currently completing her Level 6 Professional Certificate in Management and BA (Open) (Management & Psychology). |

Ursula Pilot - HR OfficerWith more than 20 years experience working in the accounting and banking sector, Ursula decided to move into the health and social care sector ten years ago. The career change brought her and her husband to the Pembrokeshire area along with their three sons. Now a long-standing member of the management team, Ursula has developed her knowledge of the sector and skills during her career. She has achieved a Professional Trainer qualification as well as an NVQ Level 3 qualification in Learning and Development. Today, Ursula works with other management team members and is responsible for managing human resources, which involves interviewing and inducting staff as well as overseeing new starters through the probationary period. Ursula is currently working towards a NVQ Level 3 certificate in management. |

Stephanie Zapanta – SupervisorStephanie realised from a young age that her future career lied in nursing and social care. At the age of 13, she became a carer for her grandmother, who suffered from dementia, nursing her single-handedly for almost three years. This inspired her to study towards a qualification in nursing within her home country of Philippines. Stephanie started working with Care in Hand as a community carer almost seven years ago. She is extremely passionate about her job and in her role as Supervisor, enjoys inspiring others to offer the best care possible. In the future, Stephanie hopes to work towards becoming a qualified nurse. |

Emily Hughes – Business SupportCare in Hand’s longest serving employee, Emily has been with the company for eight years. With a BTEC National Diploma in Business & Finance, she understands the importance of working towards the organisation’s goals within her administrative role of business support. A married mother of two, Pembrokeshire has always been her home, apart from four years she spent in London, where she gained her skills in an office environment, before moving back to Pembrokeshire and starting with Care in Hand. |

Sue Merriman – AdministratorSue, who has lived in Pembrokeshire for almost 40 years, started her professional career by completing an NVQ in Childcare and Education focusing on special needs. After working in various schools, she took some time out to complete a personal dream of studying at an Art School. Around five years ago, she decided to go back into the world of work, and started working in business administration. Sue, who has since gained vast computer and office administration skills and knowledge, has worked at Care in Hand for almost six months. She is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the business. |
