QCF Qualifications
Care in Hand is an approved City and Guilds centre providing Qualification Credit Frameworks (QCFs) in Health and Social Care at levels 2, 3 and 5. After the 12 week skills, knowledge and assessment programme, if not already attained, employees are required to enrol on a QCF Level 2 in Health and Social Care. This goes above and beyond the QCF target set by the National Minimum Care Standards in England and Wales. As Care in Hand holds a work based learning contract, all employees who successfully complete the 12 week skills, knowledge and assesment programme will have their qualifications fully funded by the Department for Education and Skills (DFES) Wales.
What is a Qualification Credit Framework (QCF)?
It is a wide-ranging Diploma which covers the skills and knowledge needed to care for others in a broad range of health or social care settings. It is a work based learning qualification and you will be allocated an assessor and meet with your assessor for two hours every month at your work place to complete the Diploma.
It is flexible to suit all fields of health and social care. You can choose a pathway that suits your role - for example, working with older people, working with people with a learning disability or people with dementia.
This is the main qualification required by the Care Councils in Wales and Northern Ireland and the Quality Care Commission in England.
Care in Hand offers the following Levels of Diploma:
Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults)
Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults)
Career progression can be achieved for those working in a supervisory or an assistant deputy manager’s role within the Health & Social Care field by undertaking the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care. This builds on your managerial and care skills and fulfils the regulatory requirement for those looking to become managers of adult residential and domiciliary services.
Care in Hand offers:
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services (Adults' Residential Management)
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services (Adults' Management)
