When starting work with Care in Hand, every new care worker undergoes a five day induction training programme by a nurse training manager. Following this induction each trainee will shadow a highly qualified senior care worker, who will provide guidance and mentoring for 12 weeks. The nurse training manager will also oversee a new employee’s Continuous Professional Development and review these needs every year to help ensure the carers have the necessary skills to deal with their clients’ specific care needs.

Our live-in carer employed rates range from £475.00 - £525.00 per week depending of the level of care your client requires.

Hourly care staff rates vary but start from £6.80 starting rate and increase to £7.45 for those with NVQ/QCF level 4 qualifications. All mileage is paid at 35p per mile tax free.

Hourly care staff normally work in the locality they live in.

Employees have 28 days holiday (pro rata/ per year) and employees accrue 2.33 days holiday for every 30 days worked.

Employees are entitled to statutory sick pay. In the event of sickness, we provide cover in an employee’s absence.  

National Insurance paperwork is completed by Care in Hand.

PAYE Tax is deducted and paid by Care in Hand (If you are not a UK national, you can claim the tax back when you return home).

Employees are given free uniforms, jackets and ID badges and have use of the company cars for emergencies.

Criminal Records Bureau check (at £50.60) refunded after successful three months of service.

Our Social Care Induction Framework will help employees achieve an initial understanding of care and help promote confidence and independence.

Regular reviews will be held, where employees will have the opportunity to discuss subjects such as ability, timekeeping, health, awareness and working relationships.

Regular supervision and spot check sessions will be held.

Training and development reviews will be held with employees every six months.

We adhere to an open door policy, achieving good communication and high quality of care.

24 hour support will be provided by registered nurses.

We have purpose built offices and meeting rooms, as well as a training centre providing mandatory and specialist course, including the All Wales Moving  and Handling Passport 2009 .

We also have a City & Guilds NVQ approved centre with employed NVQ assessors.
