Hi all,
Time flies when you’re having fun… and when you’re busy working! Whether you’re planning a holiday abroad, attending a wedding, enjoying a long weekend, or simply need some time to recharge, it’s important to take a break and look after yourself.
To help ensure a smooth process and avoid disappointment, please remember to check your Activ Absence account and plan your time off well in advance.
Important Updates:
- Advance Notice: All leave requests must be submitted at least 28 days in advance to allow for cover and rota planning. This ensures fairness for all staff and helps us manage workloads effectively.
- Unpaid Leave: Unpaid leave can only be authorised in the event of an emergency when all your annual leave has been used. It cannot be requested for additional holidays or personal plans. Please be aware that unpaid leave requests will only be approved in exceptional circumstances.
- Request Days: If you absolutely need a particular day off, it is recommended to book it as annual leave to guarantee the time off. Please note that request days should not be added to the start or end of your annual leave, and a maximum of two consecutive request days can be submitted.
- Leave Duration: The maximum amount of annual leave that can be taken at one time is 14 days, so please ensure your travel plans fall within this period.
- Leave Carry Over: As per company policy, annual leave cannot be rolled over into the next year. To make the most of your entitlement, we recommend aiming to take half of your leave within the first six months of your leave year.
If you need to make minor changes to your booked leave, such as adjusting the dates by a day or two, this is much easier to accommodate when planned in advance. Additionally, if your plans change, you can always cancel your leave request.
TIP: Follow the general rule that every 6 months you should take half of your leave entitlement.
We appreciate your cooperation in following these guidelines to ensure a fair and smooth process for everyone. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Happy holidays and happy planning!
Best regards,
Care in Hand
